Garage build price points - Southern Maine

I could do a 36 x 38 or smaller but not bigger as there are property setbacks and other restrictions. As far as the boat goes, yeah it was parked in the yard and I can only afford that boat because I do every ounce of work on it myself and BTW it's 34 years old! :) If people price their jobs on...

Garage build price points - Southern Maine

Hello, So I finally pulled the trigger and moved to Maine from NH! I came from a house that had a 46x26 garage to a house that has none! :( it has been a long winter with all my tools in storage! I am having a garage built this spring but I am very shocked by the initial prices I am getting. I...

Looking to build a 36x60x12 pole building in southern maine

Thanks so far for the replies! It is surprising to hear that pole buildings are not more popular in Maine! With regards the the glacial comment, isn't the whole point of a pole barn to bury the poles 4-5 feet in the ground to prevent heaving? I did send messages to three of the companies listed...

    Anyone in Maine??

I might be looking for a similar type of help in the Casco area. Does anyone know of contractors that are willing to work with the home owner (or allow the home owner to help) with the construction of a pole barn to help keep some of the costs down? Thanks Jim

First Post - thinking of building a new 46x46 garage

Thanks everyone! Here is the latest design with the high walls and the common trusses. I think this is the right way to go! Pretty sure the garage door layout is also set. The doors end up being 13'w x 10'tall. Should I consider 11' tall, my concern is that only gives me 12" of clearance? the...

First Post - thinking of building a new 46x46 garage

Thanks for the compliment! :) Both a lift and pulling engines! The truss has its advantages but it only gives me the height I need in the center of the building. 12' across solves this issue. Plus I think flat ceiling will be easier to heat vs. vaulted? I have looked and 12' gets me exactly...

First Post - thinking of building a new 46x46 garage

Well I got the pricing back for the trusses and I am actually very surprised at the little difference between a common 46' span truss and a scissor truss. The common trusses came in at $221 ea. and the scissor at $242. This does still seem high overall based on other posts I have seen on here...

First Post - thinking of building a new 46x46 garage

Long time looker, first time poster! Hi everyone! :) As the title says, looking to build a new 46x46 garage. I have an existing garage now (46x26) but it won't fit my boat and I have so much time and money into restoring my boat that it just kills me to have to leave her out in the yard all...
