My new MAC Tool Box Identified

Hi all, I see a lot of "help me identify" posts, but nothing showing a box like mine. I sent some pictures to MAC customer service and they responded within an hour, both times. So hopefully this will help someone in the future searching here for MAC tool box stuff. MB4270B Side Locker...

Drywall garage ceiling (floor above on metal trusses)

You fasten a furring strip, top hat, or resilient channel across the steel, usually with a large self tapping screw of some sort. The drywall then screws to the furring strip or resilient channel like normal.

    Multiple studs at random spacing

Next time, drill all those holes at the bottom of the wall and cover them with a baseboard when you are done. or if there's already a baseboard, pop it off and drill behind it.

    suggestions for Natural hardwood coating

Do you have open pores, knots, or grain in the freshly sanded wood that you don't like? That's all the filler will do - fill them. I've put in a good amount of raw hardwood and never filled it before applying the finish.

    Moisture in the garage

A technicality here - Moving air around does NOT lower dewpoint (a property of the air). It can raise the temperature of the condensing surfaces above dewpoint, thus preventing condensation. It does this by reducing or eliminating a thin layer of stagnant air against these surfaces.

Running well water through a pressure washer

I use a submersible pump dropped in our pond to feed the pressure washer from time to time with a screened hose washer to catch big chunks. Been doing this for years with no issues.

    Garage mod quote sanity check

That space is typically for a future "bonus room." TV room, man cave, spare bedroom. It's cheaper to build it up front than to add it on later.

    Garage mod quote sanity check

We just had a guy in our town do this. He rented a large telehandler forklift, picked up the entire roof and floor assembly intact, set it on the ground, extended the walls up a couple feet, put the roof back on, flashed / touched up the existing roofing. It was done in two days. I thought...

    HeadLoc construction screws

As far as I know, that drive design (used on their wafer head screws) is proprietary to FastenMaster. But I have been using those screws for years, so I have those bits everywhere. FWIW - That driver / screw combo does NOT strip out - PERIOD.

Non-pressure treated sill plate in new garage construction

This is a common retrofit in older homes, buildings with problems, and areas newly-infested with termites. It's not that hard to do. To the OP - I would do nothing. Hang the siding a bit lower, make sure it never gets hit with exterior water or runoff.

Brakes caliper bolts, and anti seize

In NY we slather all of that with Permatex synthetic brake grease. It's better than Loctite because it won't harden up. Switch to this instead. I understand many well-intentioned people here advising against putting anything on these threads, but I have been at it for 40 years. I've never...

Lug nut thread lubrication - what do you use?

All of you folks mentioned anti-seize, which IMO is better than nothing. But you all should look into synthetic disc brake grease. Made by many brands. usually purple, green, or blue. It doesn't harden up and it cleans off your hands easier. We use it on everything.

Garage sealed too tight - How to fix?

Dehumidify or air condition is your only option. Ventilating the space with hot, humid air will not dry it out.
