Soldering wire to circuit board... 1st time. Advice welcomed.

Awesome responses with advice and questions. Some notes I gathered - Solder What I found for the solder I have - Set the temperature-controlled iron to 650°F. This range provides the perfect amount of heat to melt 60/40 rosin-core solder quickly without lifting the metal pad off the circuit...

Soldering wire to circuit board... 1st time. Advice welcomed.

Solder doesn't go bad with age, does it :D? Use the soldering iron to remove the solder from the hole... thanks. Didn't know it was through hole. Glad I posted here. Any techniques for a through hole?

Soldering wire to circuit board... 1st time. Advice welcomed.

I had had an oops moment that resulted in me pulling 2 wires off a circuit board. I found where they need to be soldered back on, but I've never soldered to a circuit board. I don't want to assume, but I imagine it is straightforward and the same as soldering wires together; clean the wire and...

Yeah, that was a big downer. When they fired the 3 cast members and just announced it at the opening of the show by way of a sentence or two that it was going to be just Adam and Jamie, without any explanation or nod to the cast, and blithely went into the episode like nothing happened. It was...

I remember Ed left because, as he said, they wanted to have less mechanical detail. I remember the first episode where Ed's replacement spent a significant amount of the show breaking down and rebuilding a turbocharger in detail. I thought it was fascinating. It didn't mesh with what Ed said...

My wife and found her just a few months ago and have been watching. The most recent project, the 1$ trailer, is really worth following. Carpentry, leather working, welding and just a lot of cleverness. Our plan is to go back to the beginning, when she was in Germany. One of the other things...

    HOA horrors?

While I'm loathe to give the mouth breathing nutters in other states ammunition to toss at California with their lame, halfwit unimaginative slogans, I remembered this story and thought it would be funny to show here. Not HOA, but a small city ordinance. All you Don't Tread On Me or ALL CAPS...

    Rafter Birdsmouth Calculation

I feel your pain. I had similar issues with bird-mouth cuts on my greenhouse build. It got so much worse when I needed to frame the valley rafters. Holy cow, never again.

Yeah, It took me less than 2 minutes to find the same information you did. Sad that people make outright BS claims, and even sadder that people believe those claims and then perpetuate them. Showing their ignorance. No. But you keep on doing you.

Need 30amp breaker... having trouble finding the right one for my service panel

As @micromind mentioned, 30 amp 125v. Strange, and as far as I know, unique to RV use.

Need 30amp breaker... having trouble finding the right one for my service panel

Is it, although I'm not sure I'd leave my power cord plugged in during a rain storm. I originally bought one of these, but my wife nixed it because it was going to be in a visible place and she thought it unsightly. Compromise...

Thanks for that. I figured it out a little bit ago. I had forgotten about Eaton and was Googling specifically CH... Easily found one from Eaton.
