    Holtzapffel & Deyerlein metal scraping plane

    I have come across an old Holtzapffel & Deyerlein metal scraping plane, that has borer in the woodwork. I can find very little about this tool, would I be making a mistake having the woodwork replaced, or is it best to keep it original and accept the borer.
