    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Help: designing new 40 X 30 wood shop

Every time I layout my equipment, some 10' board messes up my plans. What about dropping power from the ceiling using rollups? Putting power all they way around the outside helps too. Putting a lot of the smaller units on rolling cabinets has helped me out tremendously also. Ken

Looks good. Since you has 12" under the cabinet, why not create storage drawers for heavy stuff under there? Now you got me thinking of raising my cabinets and building rolling trays for storing jack stands, and other stuff under there. Thanks

    Above 1200 Sq/FT allthingsgiant's 2000 SQFT ArmorPoxy Garage

Thanks for the write-up. I am thinking I will have to do this myself as the price people want to do my 880 sq garage is getting crazy. I also have 8" walls that go up from the slab, good advice for that part too.

If it was me, I would be beefing up that 'post' you made between the garage doors. The verticals should be doubles at least or there will be some unwanted movement over time. Just a thought since you have time.

Nice set up. Running cat5 and 220 will help you in the long run. I did that in my last garage for a portable heater. I moved into my new house 3 years ago and it came with a built in gas one so no need for 220 yet. The panel is right beside the garage in the basement anyways so no issues for...

I assume you are going to heat this garage. If so, with what? If you are going electric, you will need a 240 v outlet. If you are going propane/natural gas, you need venting and lines running into the structure. Make sure you have LOTS of lights. You may want to put in more outlets in the...

That is very cool. You need to LED it and put it up in your garage.

IF your property drops off, think about a CORE-SLAB. Drive in on the front and down underneath from the back. Ken

Isn't dealing with local politicians fun.....doesn't matter what side of the boarder you are on. It's all bout pushing paper....watch what happens when one of them want a nice new garage.

Once this is built are you going to have access issues getting to the back yard? Is that a roll up door on the back? If you are and you are planing on using that door as access to the back yard instead of going around the building, the doors should line up with the front one. Just thinking of...

Keep going, so far so good. Get those electrical cover plates back on and the door/window trim will make it look 10 times better. My floor looks like yours. Can't wait to get it all one colour.

    My garage build

I like what you have done, don't get me wrong but I never understand why people put stuff on the right had side of the garage in North America. When I drive my vehicle in, I open the drivers door to the middle of the garage so I don't hit anything. And in the winter, I want my tool chest as...
