Yes it will work- however it is slower than the updated rapid charger. i have both and prefer to run the larger capacity batteries on the rapid charger

I have this unit, I will say its a lifesaver. If i didnt already have it i would be jumping on this one. Yes it will burn through a battery quick enough, but with the 4ah it should last a bit longer. I use it to make flush cuts against a floor, door frames, fence poles, etc. really cant beat it.
