The lower is a 9 foot ceiling and the upper is an 8 foot ceiling. I would have to guess, without looking at the tress blueprints, that above the 8 foot opening in the top part that there is around 3-4 more feet in the center to the roof. and the bottom part of the tress is 12inches thick.so my...

The plan is to build two small concrete walls on either side of the garage door on the back and then backfill inbetween where it is not sided. I will use some eighth inch steel and make a cover for the lip.

actually plan is to put an 8" I-beam with u channel going out under the trusses and support the top and then even park another car up there. I will also be keeping an ATV,riding mower, and storage up there.
