All very good perspectives, and thank you all for your input. I don’t have the original motor. I found the pump on a trailer mated to a Wisconsin gas engine. I bought just the pump. So I will most likely be buying a puller either way. This will be used in a residential setting.

I have a Quincy 216 that I would like to find a motor for. As I understand it this pump is rated at 500-900rpm with a 2-3hp motor. I would like to be in the upper range of that for the cfm increase. I could buy a newer 2 pole 3hp motor (3,450rpm) that would put the pump in that rpm...
Finally figured it out. Thought I would post pics if it will help anyone in the future. So one valve I inserted a roll pin punch and then tapped punch side to side to wiggle the seat out. The other valve I inserted all the way and pushed the seat out. No damage or distortion to the valve plates...
I recently bought a Quincy 216 and am going through it. I see valve rebuild kits online however my valves are enclosed in a cast machined housing. Do these housings come apart to access the plate and spring or is it a buy a new assembly type thing? Thanks in advance
