    Thanks, Scooter. thirty years sounds entirely plausible. Mine has several rectangular shadows where the paint color is a bit lighter which suggested long-gone stickers.

    All stickers have long since fallen off, come unstuck. I think the leaking oil from the jack dissolved the adhesive. The only marks I've found were T.L on the foot of the jack, and TE on the horizontal U-channel section.

    I know. Pretty weird. I wouldn't have thought to classify it that way, until the patina fooled me. But you tell me - what criteria determine whether something is vintage? What is the cutoff?

    I picked this up yesterday, and the patina at first obscured its HF lineage (for me). Does anyone here know approximately when this might have been manufactured? It looks like 1977 was when Harbor Freight started. Any insights are appreciated.
