Found this today. I saw an add for an estate sale and I thought I saw a mini post vise in a pic but turned out to be an old stillson wrench. Anyway,found this instead. You guys know if it’s a small/portable blacksmith vise?

It’s not custom. It shows up if you change the tab to repair parts I think; can’t buy it though. This is how the 1/4 version showed up initially, now you can find and buy the 1/4 version.

Oh a 3/8 in a 1/4 body. I was thinking of doing that. I picked up a 1/4 a few weeks ago and was cruising the truck for another when I spotted the 3/8. Maybe in the future.

Picked this bad boy up Saturday. Had to carry this thing 1/4 mile to my car. I initially thought it wasn’t a big deal lol. The jaws are smooth, handle has a slight bend, but opens smoothly.

ssdave, I think that would work great if it weren’t for a suction that occurs most of the time; thing is sometimes I need to spin it around most of time to “loosen” the rod up to pull it out. I would still need to carry a pipe wrench spin the sampler a bit.

I broke my pipe wrench today (cracked jaw), 40+ yr old aluminum 24 Olympia that my dad gave me. I was thinking of replacing it with a ridgid and calling it a day but I started to think perhaps I am using it in the “incorrect “ manner and voiding any warranty and shortening the wrench’s life...

On my bathroom scale it weighed approximately 30 lbs. The max opening is 5-1/4 inches. The vise jaws are not replaceable. It is marked 114x on static and dynamic jaw.
