    Bench Buffer Threads

You were correct. The 1/2 20 threaded shaft was an arbor. I heated the spacer on the other shaft (it was threaded) and it came off and cleaned up the threads somewhat. I may take a shot at making some 1/2 18 bolts. I believe this may actually be an old refrigeration motor that someone repurposed.

    Bench Buffer Threads

I bought a bench grinder at an auction and they threw in a bench buffer that was mounted to the same cart. The data plate has specs but the manufacturer is worn away. Both shafts appear to be right hand threads. One shaft is definitely 1/2-20 thread (pictured with hex nuts). The other threads...

    Craftsman Drill Press

To be honest, I was just so glad to be done with restoration, I slapped some belts on with out much thought. The front belt is an AX27 and the back is an AX25. The motor pulley, measuring from the inside groove is 1”, 2”,3” & 4”. I moved the motor belt to the top and the quill belt to next to...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I just finished refurbishing my Craftsman 103.23141 drill press. It has an MSA. After installing new belts and starting it up, it’s loud. I can’t really tell where the noise is from. After running a few minutes, the belt between the quill and MSA is warm. The MSA is warm also. The belts aren’t...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Sorry for the delay in reply. My darn day job gets in the way of my hobbies. I soaked everything overnight in lacquer thinner, followed your instructions above and resembled in just about every possible position. The original lineup in 1,2, and 3 slots worked the best, but there’s still a small...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I cleaned everything back up and took a closer look. The nut seems to mate okay. Does it look like the first teeth on the left side on the top and middle jaws are broken? I know it’s hard to see but there’s only a sliver of metal on the top one which would be #1. So if that’s the case, does...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I’m working on restoring a 1953 Craftsman King Seely and so far everything has gone smoothly with the help from this forum. I disassembled my Jacobs 633C chuck this weekend and cleaned it. I’m stumped on this issue that I’ve run into on reassembly. The jaws mate perfectly with the sleeve...

Feed Return handle for Craftsman 100 Drill Press

Hello all, I’m looking for a feed return handle and knob (photo attached) for a 1953 Craftsman 100 series drill press. It’s threaded 3/8-16 at the hub end. Allen
