    Adapter for ribbed metal building??

So, I'm wanting to purchase some awnings to go above the doors and windows of my Carolina Carports building (ribbed metal), and was wondering if there is anyone out there that makes some sort of adapter to put between the smooth back of the awning frame, and the ribs on the metal building to...

    CHI Garage Door opinion

I have 2 of the CHI 2216 doors, one is 10x12, and the other is 10x16, and they have standard garage door seals. I had a thermal camera brought in to check for leaks all around my building after I put in the MrCool DIY mini-split, and the doors had nearly zero leaks around them. I live in NE...

Best type of large insulated doors?

I have 2 of the CHI 2216 doors, one is 10x12, and the other is 10x16, and they have standard garage door seals. I had a thermal camera brought in to check for leaks all around my building after I put in the MrCool DIY mini-split, and the doors had nearly zero leaks around them. I live in NE...

Brian's Buggy Barn World Wide Headquarters!

Now that Browneye recommended I turn off the ceiling fans and let the air stratify, my MrCool unit is keeping up well with the temperature, and it's been 78F and about 35% humidity, even on the superhot days. I've yet to cover the lineset, but will get that done here soon.

Thanks!! It's nice to finally have some room to work on cars again. Our last house a smaller two car garage that was extremely cramped, and a high angle on the driveway, which made it impossible to work on.

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

And of course, again you were correct!! I was able to maintain 78F yesterday without the fans on at all, letting the air stratify. I wasn't able to do that on Thursday with them on. I had 78F and 33% humidity, which was very nice to work in. I did play around and turned on the fans to see...

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

I'm going to test that out today, and turn off my 3 ceiling fans on my building. It's 30x60, and I have the 36K unit. I have 12' sides, and my roof is about 16' at the max height.

Brian's Buggy Barn World Wide Headquarters!

So, the MrCool unit is working very well, and almost keeping up with the NE Florida weather. Turning the unit off the first night was a mistake, as the humidity did climb up, and it worked a bit during the day to drop it down. It did keep the temp about 81F during the day (with the unit set to...

Brian's Buggy Barn World Wide Headquarters!

It usually is a nice coating, but also extremely expensive, and would have doubled the cost of the insulation, which already cost me an arm and a leg. I chose to go a different route, and honestly, it will take some time to even get the OSB and all put up. That's one of those things I'll take...

Brian's Buggy Barn World Wide Headquarters!

Thanks! It's been a dream of mine for a long time, and we chose this area to move to due to a number of reasons, but the big one for me was the ability to build it here.

Brian's Buggy Barn World Wide Headquarters!

Yes, I'll eventually cover the lower 8 feet with OSB, and then put up pegboard on the 4'-8' level (beams are 4' on center), with a workbench at the 4' level most of the way around. The ceilings will eventually get white paint to protect the insulation from breakdown. Closed cell foam is not...

Brian's Buggy Barn World Wide Headquarters!

Yes, the prices have gone up, but you can still find some very nice used ones for a reasonable cost. All mine are original to the late 60'a and one from 1970. One was completely restored, another is quite original, one I am restoring myself, and I also have the home built one that my Great...

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

Thanks, but it's not Romex. Picture is hard to see, but it is MC cable. I'll fill the hole when I put on the vinyl covers on the lineset.

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

I just completed my installation yesterday of my MrCool DIY 36K unit, and couldn't be happier. I have a 30'x60' metal shop with 2" of closed cell spray foam insulation on the walls, 3" on the ceilings, and two insulated garage doors (R-19). I had to make a custom mounting plate to go between...

Air-Conditoner Went Into The Garage Today.

I did a MrCool DIY mini-split in the shop yesterday. I've got a 30x60' shop here in NE Florida. I've got 2" of closed cell spray foam insulation on the walls, 3" on the ceilings, and R-19 insulated garage doors. I dropped my temp from 90F and 75% humidity to 79F and 51% humidity in just 5 hours...
