Two car garage, the journey begins.

Thank you, it's always nice to crack open a nice cold bottle of Mexican Coke while working on the garage and cars. Thank you, I don't plan on putting anything heavy on it but I like the idea and will most likely implementing in the near future. Thank you soo much, it has been really fun and...

Two car garage, the journey begins.

So, I have been MIA for a really really long time. I have since my last post moved to SoCAL. All I have to say is that I am extremely happy to live 15 miles from my son now, but SoCAL is stinking hot. YEESH! I have downsized my space by more than half. I will need tons of ideas but I will start...

Two car garage, the journey begins.

A huge thanks to Eds_tls for the original inspiration for my workbench. Two huge thumbs up man. Also, thank you to Jack Olson for the suggestions on design modification, minus the ridges along the edge which will probably be in the works in the near future. Here she is all finished up with...

    work benches... from scratch

Not done yet, still need to add the casters(which I have), I was just a little tired last night. Also picked up a piece of 12GA HR Mild Steel to be used as the work surface yesterday(which I will add after installing the casters).

LoL. Your absolutely right. I was at Lowes, grabbed a sheet of 3/4" particle board but they said they could not cut it down due to it being "particle board". So we walked back over and I snagged a piece of 5/8" plywood and they cut it down for the shelf and work surface. Thanks for the kind...

Two car garage, the journey begins.

Got off a little early so I stopped at Lowes for a nice sheet of 5/8 particle board. Called up Alan Steel and have a sweet 11Ga plate that will cover half of the workbench for my welding needs(Thats my way of saying practicing, LoL).

What's everyone paying for a bottle of MIG gas?

Exactly what I thought, I have it set at 17cfh. Guess I am replacing the regulator.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

I'm sure your trying to get over the loss, but I could't help but extend my condolences to you and the family on the loss of your pups. Congratulations on the little girl, and wish you and the growing family the best. As they say, strap in, put your arms up and enjoy the rollercoaster we call...

    shop vac??

I purchased a 6 gallon Rigid wet/dry vac from HD and it is extremely loud. I hook it up to my media blast cabinet and it is more annoying than my compressor. Works great though, won't complain about that. Think I paid about 40 something dollars for it. I would purchase the auto cleaning kit...

What's everyone paying for a bottle of MIG gas?

Let me know how long it lasts you, I might end up shelling out the 120 bucks for a regulator at Airgas.

What's everyone paying for a bottle of MIG gas?

I use Airgas and I pay 48 dollars to fill my 40cfm 75% Argon 25% Cabon Dioxide tank. The tank itself was $150.00 and $24.00 for the initial fill up. Will be upgrading to the 80cfm very very soon. The 40cfm bottle maybe will last about a total of an hour worth of welding time if I am lucky, I...

Two car garage, the journey begins.

Hello everyone, sorry I have been MIA. I have been really busy working on the Mustang and learning how to weld. Started building this work bench earlier this evening. It is 50-1/2" long 42" tall and 23" deep(working with the space I have, BLAW!). Almost done, stopping by HF tomorrow to pick up...

    Waterheater ventilation system

It does look like it is burning the insulation there, the corrosion on the front of the water heater was not there a month ago, it appearantly appeared when they changed the routing of the vents. Not sure what to do about the burnt looking insulation though. Any suggestions?
