opinions on these 2 cheap rachets

If you don't wrench for a living, you wouldn't know or possibly understand the struggles. Some Toyotas (doesn't matter 4 banger or v6, I serviced a few virgins) will require a 36" breaker bar if the last idiot didn't oil the o-ring or torque to spec (like a grunt or two with a 18"). 25 N•m or...

    Matco digital torque wrench accuracy...

Snap-on's TechAngle is 2% clockwise and 3% counterclockwise, I would assume Matco is very similar.

    Taiwanese FCF72 equivalent

You guys are over-complicating things, it's a timing cover bolt, it's not very tight. The chances of you rounding one out to a cheap socket is higher than not actually busting one loose. The whole point of compact 3/8" ratchet is to run down large fasteners typically 1/4" don't have sockets...

GearWrench 3/8 in ratchet acting up, warranty time?

I got rid of all my GearWrench ratchets (60T, 84T and 120XP) for Dual80s because they all seem to have this problem. Hard to reverse after heavy load (had to be jiggled to work the mechanism) and auto reverses when you swing back too quickly. Decent ratchets until you have to put some torque to it.

Anyone else use only impacts in 1/2"

All of my 1/2" sockets are impact, very rarely use anything smaller than 14mm.

How often do you reach for 1/4" deep sockets

Deep every time, unless clearance and obstruction dictate otherwise.

    Tool Question

Some Visegrips will work. Clamp down on the folds and use a hex key to tighten down the pliers. Its also easier to work with bent metal when you don't have to hand clamp the pliers. Saves a lot of energy, since Channellock is only effective when you clamp down on the handles.

    mac tools gggrrrrr

Milwaukee doesn't make a 200ft-lb, 3" tall impact wrench that is impervious to fluids. For a professional, cordless tools are a complement, but will never truly replace air tools.

Do you grease the head regularly? The vent looks very dry, mine is moist but not oozing with grease. My IR Hammerhead is still strong after 4 years, but I don't let it rattle past 5 seconds. Maybe consider in one of those super stubby 1/2" impacts, they can hit north of 450lb-ft.

1/2" Drive - Long Handle Flex Head Ratchets +20"

Flex is not something I would desire for a 1/2" drive, if I need to clear an obstacle I usually do that with deeper sockets or extensions. When fasteners break loose a flex handle can be very dangerous if you were leaning your entire body weigh on it. The 24"s are great only if you work under a...

Snap on ptr72 new 3/8 air ratchet in green orange and red

Looks like you could just undo the collar above the sleeve, and the sleeve should slide right out from the top. Mine has been trouble free so far, my dealer said the 72 is a damn reliable ratchet. My coworker has had his for 10 years, never been rebuilt.
