Re: Will an epoxy garage floor increases the resale value
I bought my house in 2013 and the garage was a wreck (40 year old house, **** floors, walls, you can tell nobody cared about the garage at all)
I put in lots of time/effort and now it's like a **** clean surgey center. Clean, bright...
So thanks to the forum about a year ago I got my Epoxy-Coat and Legacy Industrial clear installed DIY. Came out fantastic

Anyway -- on another project I needed to do some spray painting on kitchen cabinets, setup a work area in the garage. I did think about...
I'll sprinkle some Mr. Clean concentrate on the floor after hosing it down, get out my scrub mop and do a light once over. Hose everything down and it comes out clean as the day it was poured with that awesome Mr. clean smell too.

So I started with this:

I did the lip with Legacy Epoxy primer (2 coats), followed up with their urathane clear with the recommended dose of Shark Grip added, came out...
sweet!
I got off my *** today and did another full sweep out of the garage (still amazed at the level of concrete dust the broom was able to lift)
Then did another wash out of the garage, and it's starting to get like you said: able to run my finger on the concrete and have it come up clean.
yeah I suppose I'll just do a vac and wipe down instead of breaking out the acid.
I did a vac and wipe down on the lip of the garage and it turned out perfect... just trying to keep busy till the good weather arrives to lay down the primer and epoxy and clear.
So I did things the "right" way and rented a dimabrush from home depot -- it worked fairly well (before and after shots below)
Since the weather is pretty crappy here in central TX I have to delay applying my primer and epoxy till I have some for sure good weather.

Used some shark grip and mixed up the recommended portion (~3oz bottle) into a 1 gallon batch of Legacy Industrial Urethane clear.
Works great, no problem, grip is excellent, almost too good for my liking.
Would there be a way to run the urethane through some kind of filter (cloth?) and...
some advice if you go the dimabrush route --- rented mine today and it worked.... but maybe the blades were worn, or what, because it wasn't near as efficient at cutting, I'd have to hover around the same little 2 square foot area for several minutes to get it 80% "clean"
I'm not sure what...
Thanks guys! :-)
Update - (no pics yet) rented the floor grinder and diamabrush from Home depot -- was able to knock it out in an afternoon of about 5 hours) I think the wheel/blades on the thing weren't top notch, as I had to practically work the same spot for 10 minutes to get results...
I'm going through my DIY experience, just finished the edges and lip of garage with my 4.5" hand grinder, probably renting the big daddy tomorrow to do the rest of the main garage space.
Speaking just for the garage - I'd budget a little over 500 dollars for materials if you want the quality...
I have 5000k everywhere in my house, love the daylight color. I tried going 6500k in the garage and it's even better! T8 above washer/dryer, T12s everywhere else (8 bulbs total)

So been lurking here for quite a long time -- finally had the time and energy to get my **** cracking on my garage. House was built in 1970's and previous owner was an idiot who obviously didn't care about the garage as you can see from the before pics: (linked thumbs - click for high res oh...
Good info here - I'll be hopefully laying down my Legacy Indusrial Primer coat here in a week or two myself.
Just to clarify - that 12 to 24 hour window starts after the product has cured to the point of walking on it correct? I.e. if I lay down the primer (wait 24 hours) lay down epoxy...
