I'm commenting here because I'm (hopefully) going to inherit the same issue. I'm down in Norfolk, VA and have all of these moisture concerns as well. The "new" garage is vintage 1926, all brick, with slate roof, wood rafters and a decent roof pitch, and zero insulation. Gutters are in place...
