I’ve had one the same model in my shop for 20 years. The only service I ever did was replace the circuit board. About 75 bucks if I remember correctly.

Wire welder what are you using

Hobart 140 with a gas bottle. I always wanted a 220 machine. Never could justify it. This 140 does most of what I need. Once in a blue moon I get out the stick. But not very often.

    Gas line questions

2 PSI systems are fine you are correct. I’d leave that up to LP Gas service people. It works I’ve done a few. The regulators are often blue in color and the system is marked 2 PSI on the piping . Great way to do it in a commercial application like a motel or bus garage as an example. Each...

    Gas line questions

I did what your doing a couple years ago. Propane regulator on the house. I tapped into the high pressure side. Run half inch poly outside underground to a new regulator installed on the deck. Hooked up my grill etc from there. I came from the outside and stayed outside. If you come from...

Decent MIG gas welder that doesn't break the bank?

I’ve had a Hobart 140 for at least 18 years. I installed 220 power after I bought it. I want to upgrade to a 220 myself. But it’s hard to justify. The 140 is a fine machine. Currently building a small utility trailer. It is up to the task no issues.

    Amerigas....

I worked for them 21.5 years. I got done in 2016. Worked for a couple other propane companies after AmeriGas and I’m now retired. They were great for years and years. But companies have live cycles. My motto “ The first guy off a sinking ship gets a ride in the life boat “

    Propane heat

I’ve sold propane for a living for years. 2 things. Contract the gas every year. May or June. Lock in the price. Use a 500 gallon or larger. Nobody will say it but I will. A Propane Company is a trucking company. Minimize the deliveries. Some say own your own tank. That’s fine. With inflation...

    LP tank inside garage?

A propane tank in a garage is a serious no. They are designed to be left out side. Propane leaking out side is no big deal When it leaks inside and the walls hold the vapor you’ll be on TV with an explosion . Leaks happen when relief values pop off or other reason. that being said put it...

    Indirect water heater replacement

Indirect water heaters last a long time. No burner. If it’s not leaking I’d grin and just leave it. most people when swapping out a boiler. Will use the original indirect water heater.
