Our Lowe's doesn't carry Klein tools

Their exclusivity deal with Home Depot touted that they'd carry a huge selection at every store. So far I haven't been disappointed -- I even found their new flip-blade insulated screwdriver set in-store at HD.

    Is jb tools website legit??

They're slow, so I don't order from them if I need something quickly. However, most of the highly-discounted sites have that issue, and JB Tools has amazing prices!

    Best 1/4" ratchet

My Wera Zyklop Speed ratchets (the rubber-handled roto ones) have the lowest backdrag of any ratchet I've ever handled, Ko-Ken included. On the other hand, Wera's all-metal ratchets have high backdrag.

    Tools of Japan

Here is the Z-EAL compared against the Wera Zyklop 3/8" Speed Ratchet, Snap-On FHLFD80PB, and Wera Zyklop 3/8" All-Metal Ratchet. The Z-EAL is impressively compact, and the fit of the Ko-Ken sockets on the anvil is incredible. There is no wobble, and the ball detent is just right. In terms of...

    Lock ring plier recommendations

The ones with tips are for a different style of ring :) Wow, those Facoms look nice with the flange to help capture the ring! They also look like they'd fit narrower gaps than the Proto/Wilde/etc. It looks like they're around $40.

    Lock ring plier recommendations

I have the Proto J250G (which also appears to be a rebrand of the Wilde G409). They're pretty cheap on Zoro with a coupon, but they're pretty fat at the tip. I've never used them on anything smaller than 2" diameter, so that's never been a problem. It's about a million times better than using a...

    Tools of Japan

Thanks to this thread, I bought a Ko-Ken Z-EAL basic set (3285ZA). It gets delivered tomorrow, and I can't wait to compare the backdrag with my Dual 80s!

    Bit driver handle ?

The nicest you can get at Home Depot is likely the Klein 32510. It's a great bit holder, but in retail stores you can only get it bundled with a bit set. It's ~$30 and comes with 32 high-quality bits. Obviously, that's a downside if you don't need the bits, but the bit set comes in a cool...

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

I found a very grubby socket on the side of the road today. Turns out it was a 6pt 13mm SK!

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Same here, but the Lisle magic funnel is pretty cheap. Another pass: Icon 1/4" roto ratchet. I couldn't resist the 20% off Icon coupon.

Maddox 64985 vacuum coolant tester/filler. Paid $59.99. Definitely "PASS"! It's much nicer than any other vacuum filler I've used.

what are the best coolant tools?

Harbor freight has a new Maddox vacuum filler. I bought one, and the fit and finish is great (fewer expose fitting junctions than other budget brands). It works very well, and the kit includes all the rubber rings and cones you'd ever need. It's currently $59.99 with a coupon (PN: 64985).
