yeah, a tube notcher is one of my favorite tools. I guess i just like using the term "coped" joint.

Here is a set of stainless z-bars. I coped the ends instead of the normal 90 degree miters. Capped the ends and sanded smooth. I hate seeing those open tube handlebars-
