Has the OP decided on a jack? I'm also looking for something with more lift. I was looking at the long arm bottle jack (35" of lift) and the Torin hybrid (23" of lift). I'm also trying to not spend a fortune but in the end I might go over HF and get the yellow Daytona.

You guys have some sweet looking jacks. I actually came up on this thread because I'm looking for an addition to mine. I need something with more lift than my current set up. Not to mention that it has finally started to leak after 20+ years! Never serviced... because I ****.

I see some of both, more wood but that's because the builder adds a detached garage as an upgrade. As far as dimensions go, I already have all those since I had to play Tetris with my previous 3 car garage. I won't have much in this one. Snap on rollaway- 4ft, work bench- 6ft, Gladiator cabinet-...
That is the plan. I actually got the idea from a neighbor who has that set up. It was very comfortable in his shop. My doors would be on the north and an southsides to accommodate our winds that come from the south about 2/3 of the year.

I have one legit quote for a wood building (build on site), the others were prefab (wood). I was quoted at 16k with vinyl siding, 9x7 garage door and two small windows with the slab. I still need to add the wiring and ramp from the driveway. Still working on getting more quotes.

That's nice. Looks like a 40x50? Way out of my price range though. I do plan to build a loft on the far end for storage.

Wood is my first choice also. I guess that I was hoping to hear some great reasons why metal is better so I could talk myself out of spending more on a wood building but cost savings seems to be the only upside.
I already measured out where I want it and am pretty sure how everything will...
I don't have the time to build it myself, I need it sooner than later so I will pay someone else to do it. The metal buildings are less than half of a comparable made out of wood. Which is why I'm on the fence about this.
Insulation will come later and A/C will be much later unless the ceiling...
There is an HOA but there are others with metal buildings in the neighborhood. They are not big and they are all well behind the fence.

20x24 is the same sqft as 16x30. With a 16x30 I still get about 4ft on each side to work on the truck and another 10x16 area for my workbench and tool boxes. I'm willing to go a few feet deeper to get that extra room if needed. I plan to put one or two of the bikes in the attached garage with...
