Hello RSW,
Beautiful work and creativity!
I briefly owned ( about 3 years ago) a 1937 Baldor 1021 (I think it was a w model)) and it was a beautiful machine. It weighed about 178# !
No stand unfortunately, its footprint was massive. Anyway, I ended up speaking with one of the oldest living...
Toolbox Red: A random internet field sample as applied to the paper towel mount, vs a vintage box (as backdrop for color comparison) and Rustoleum’s Can.
Cool box George. Even cooler price!😁😎
If it’s a 65, it matches my year as well. If you’re able to discern the model number could you please post it here if possible?
If you’re going to use an aerosol , my understanding is that Rustoleum Gloss Apple Red is a near perfect match to vintage S-O...
Midbox is a real find. 300 minimum in my area. Tell the Mrs that whole stack would go for 500 plus where I’m at, if you could even find one; I’ve not seen ANYTHING like this combo before, just the individual pieces and those are pretty scarce.
You did FANTASTIC on this buy👍🏼
Your chest is coming along nicely…you’re doing great work and the hardware is beautiful. Did you consider using Howard’s Restore a finish on the wood or did it warrant more serious therapy?
I don’t remember much of the original condition…I can’t wait to see the final result!
You
I’m 99.9% sure that the modern Irwin vise jaw inserts commonly available on EB fit the Paramo/Record vise, and I’m pretty certain that Autopts on our forum has them in his EB store!
Keep this vise in the family !
I appreciate your interesting field observations Hakeem…IIRC, when these new CM metrics first were introduced, many thought that they were identical to MAC’s metrics, in every way; there was a thread here about them and many believed they both came from the same factory..
Does anyone believe...
I just checked online. It’s commonly available as a reproduction item, although it’s a glue on plastic part nowadays.
If yours is die cast metal ( from the 60s or 70s) then it’s a major score….not sure if they were plastic back then or not.
