    The VISES of Garage Journal

Not exactly a place I'd wanna drop my drawers for ********* business..A big, heavy *** vise? Isn't it only supposed to be certain ladies built like a vise anyway? "She's build like a vise!" Doesn't have the same ring, does it?

Awesome tools you have but never use

I kept thinking to buy one of those, but I eventually bought an ancient DeWalt joiner from the 50s.. Have had a planer for a long time now and use them both a lot. I've lost track of the tools I've bought over the years I have forgotten I even have.. Do old electric motors stripped out of junk...

    Never sell your tools

I use the table saw..52" sawstop usually with woodpeckers rip flip attachment for dado's.. I use dado stacks for large cuts, but smaller ones I use just a flat ground ripping blade and rip flip.. takes getting used to but once you do it's easy peasy..

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

I build my own cabinets since that's what I do these days..Build cabinets..I'll have to remember to post one from my phone someday. I'm strongly considering selling my too tall workbench, build a wall of cabinets and a new bench/outfeed table for my saw..

People who live in apartments, what's you system for hauling tools back and forth when working on your vehicle?

Median strips seem like the perfect solution for solar anywhere with steady sunlight..It's not like we have a lack of open space for them..There's literally millions upon millions of acres of median strips in this country just interstate highways alone..

People who live in apartments, what's you system for hauling tools back and forth when working on your vehicle?

That would be my first option. Next option, the bus or hoofing it.. 30 flights of steps? I'm definitely moving.. I don't even like walking out to the mailbox anymore much less taking a chance an elevator might not work.. LOL

Price difference in Used hand tool Market?

Back when I operated a body shop out of my dad's garage WAY BACK when I had to pawn my sanders and other tools, go next door to the automotive paint supply house, buy the paint, paint the car, get paid then go back to the pawn shop 3 days later and get my tools plus whatever else I could afford...

Hand tools you never hear about on Garage journal.

Maybe because the world suddenly went flashlight insane. I haven't checked, but you can probably get an overpriced flashlight bright enough to burn someone's retinas out at a ladies underwear store these days.

    Never sell your tools

I have a fine young grandson I keep trying to push old tools on I no longer need.. I gave him my 5 pound slide hammer after I inadvertently reconfigured my hand with it. Don't try that at home kids. It's not nearly as much fun as seen on TV.. My days of pulling axles out of trucks are over...

    Never sell your tools

I'm not sure that's a particularly great idea. But I do have an old HF sander.. I always get RAS confused with random orbit just because I owned several DA Sanders so my old brain wants to make it random action sander instead of radial arm saw.. See what age does to ya? Anyway..I have no room...

    Craftsman/Stanley Factory Texas

I'd definitely buy Taiwanese tools over Chinese tools. Taiwan is much better at finished products with much closer tolerances and value added.. China? Not so much. Sawstop saws are built in Taiwan or at least were.. Pretty darn good saws.

    Epstein's Day 2022?

The work I do these days is in my wood shop building such things as cabinets among other things, but HJE sells the Dubuque bar clamps for a WHOLE less than anyone online or anywhere else I've found. I could spend a few days just browsing stuff on their site.

    Never sell your tools

I wish I had a dime, heck, even a penny for every tool I lost or was swiped by some schmuck in a shop...THEN, back in my heavy drinking days (I quit entirely..little late, but oh well) I ended up being a regular at pawn shops. Eventually I lost everything I owned a few times, but in the past ten...
