Fiber optic between buildings, component selection

Hi v7guy. The parts you selected all look acceptable although if your run is less than 100M, you probably better off just running CAT5 or 5E. This will deliver up to 1G which should be more than adequate for most applications. Cheers

A quiet 'Clean' garage from Dorset in the UK

Looking really good. Just an idea, why not make some storage below the steel cabinets. This will raise them to the same level as the other cupboards ( my OCD at work). Will make great storage for a trolley jack and jack stands etc. Not sure what projects you are into or other heavier items. Alwie

Wiring a Lift to Interrupt Door Opener

Hi. Most modern door openers I've seen have additional inputs that support adding a hard wired switch and some even have a lock option that you would engage when going away on holiday. I suggest you have a good look at your opener to see what options you have. If you do have a lock option it...

    Power cables for power tools

Thanks this looks like a good idea. Although warranties are not of a concern as all the tools have expired already.

    Power cables for power tools

Hi to all the Garage Journalers from Cape Town. I am looking for some advise regarding power tools and their power cables. I have trying to setup some storage for my power tools but the thing that always bugs me is the power cables which just makes it look untidy. What I am thinking of doing is...

    The 5 Stitches Garage.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL Wow !. Brilliant build. Want to do something similar in mine. Just an idea. Why not raise the small craftsman chest and make it into a bench seat for use when working at the main bench. This may also give a little more storage underneath as well. Alwie...
