    The VISES of Garage Journal

Thought I'd post an update on my vice and stand resto. This is how I got it: I went with light grey and wine red and this is what it looks like now: With a little left over paint, I tarted up an arbor press I picked up for cheap locally (best £21 I ever spent). Jones & Shipman...

    Old motor wiring

The conductors look okay to me but I will check their condition to see if they need replacing at all. I have cloth tape but wouldn't want to butcher the motor if I don't have to. Yes, the other end are rings, same as in the picture. Will post some pictures when done. Thanks.

    Old motor wiring

When you say replace you mean chop the visible part and splice? Or unwind/free them completely and then splice? You can say I've never done this before, hence all the questions. Many thanks for the help guys.

I will try to get some pics for you today to show the differences between all three. Hazet offer the same design 1/4" ratchet (p/n 863-1) so might be worth...

Alright, new grinder question. Tell me how bad I messed up.

Indeed a timely thread! I have a similar issue as others, only I didn't take my grinder apart (yet): 1) I need to manually start the spin every second time 2) Grinder runs very hot after about 5-10 mins - I can't hold my hand on it for more than a few secs 3) Yesterday in the middle of a job...

Thank you, N.I. Shame it's missing the 5/8" but I can't complain at this price!

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Thanks, Monte  Yep. I hope to use it as a mobile mini bench as well :) UMD - is it a can of Coke? I will take some pics when it's back in one piece again. It's not actually that big - the table is about 2 ft square. The whole thing is heavy though and weighs about 220 lbs. Thank...
