    This is depressing....

I am from Akron, I try to buy Cornwell manufactured stuff when ever I can because I know the people who made it are my neighbors. It would really hurt the local economic climate where I live if they were to go out of business. It really puts a human face on the issue for me. In the Akron area...

    Chicago Pneumatic Cordless Review

Good balance, It is about a pound or more than a 3/8 air impact, but it does not have a hose. I liked it for engine disassembly and suspension bolts. I felt confident with it.

    Chicago Pneumatic Cordless Review

Price? Cp sent it for review (nice perk of my job). They will send me a price shortly. It probably be less than the IR stuff. I looked around at all of the 3/8 impacts on the market and could not find a identical tool model marketed under another name. Since Atlas Copco took a stronger...

    Chicago Pneumatic Cordless Review

I recently got my hands on Chicago Pneumatic’s line of cordless tools, not bad stuff! Here is a quick review of the 3/8 impack/drill/light kit. This is one of my first tool reviews, so and comments would be appreciated: Chicago Pneumatic’s CP8738K (K stands for kit) bundles together a 3/8”...

Tools you have made or modified

Please post a picture! My father had a "special tool" for removing rotors and drums. It was nothing more than iron pipe caps that he would place over the hub of the rotor or drum and hit it with an air hammer. It worked to romove the corrosion. After sharing the technique in a magazine, he got...

    Blue Point

I though they were called "Blue Point" because back in the day they were not chromed and the heat treating "blued" the steel at the points. I would never expect a tool company to manufacture every tool in the catalog. I asked a chef once on how can I tell if a resturant is any good. He said...

    Craftsman Box Rebadge

They were one of the first uni-bodies cars. My car weighs around 2,800 lbs, it handles great with modern rubber! It is a question of image, George Romney (father of Mit) was a opposed to the excesses of Detroit in the late 1950s. So he created a conservitive image of fuel milage and crash...

    Craftsman Box Rebadge

Nice Rambler! How did you lower the front end? Cut springs or those plates that bolt on to the knuckle? Here is a picture of my American. Bought for $400 (price included spart parts and extra rims for snow tires). I drove it in the Babe Rally (www.baberally.com) that goes from New York to New...

    Craftsman Box Rebadge

Yep, BFE (Brake & Front End). I have been the editor for three years, it is one of the oldest mags out there.

    Craftsman Box Rebadge

Ramblers were made in Kenosha, not too far from Snap-On... Maybe I could sell the car on eBay for more money now... There is a connection...

    Craftsman Box Rebadge

I recently bought a new grill for my 67 Rambler American, after removing the old grill I noticed that the Rambler badge was close to the same dimensions as the Craftsman badge on my tool box. It really looks good! Anybody else done the same thing?

    Here's a variant on sockets I hadn't seen before.

BETA tools are OK, they were trying to market their tools in the US a few years ago, have not heard much since. I know of one guy who bought a set for working on his go kart. He is still on the fence about the tools.

Danaher Looking To Get In To The Test Equipment Market

Here is my two cents on the whole deal... Danaher owns Hennessy Industries(COATS+AAMCO). They make wheel balancers and brake lathes, and they might be getting into the alignment business. Tektronix makes equipment that processes and tests sound and images into digital signals... Look at the...

1/2" Impact Comparison: IR VS. Aircat

Any pressure over 90psi will not increase torque according IR, but it will increase tool speed. As for damage, I don't know, I will check with the guys at IR. Any one using an IR Thunder Gun out there?

    Clarke Tool Chests

I was looking at the same box, Summit Racing is not too far from me. The 40" wide stuff looks good. The casters look a lot better than anything Craftsman has put on their rollers for a long time.
