What would I need to bend/ring roll C channel in my garage? Possible?

I believe the wall thickness for the C channel I intend to use is around 1/8" thick. So your intuition was correct, quite thick. I am going to shop this idea around to my local steel shops and fabricators, see what they can do, and go from there.

What would I need to bend/ring roll C channel in my garage? Possible?

Thought about that for a bit. I don't weld, and this is a track for what is essentially a marble that needs to roll smoothly down (trust me don't ask) so I worry about any wall imperfections interfering with smooth rolling of the marble. I am open to alternative ideas however. I have considered...

What would I need to bend/ring roll C channel in my garage? Possible?

Long time home gamer with decent home shop but nothing really for metal fab. I have an application that would require several pieces of mild steel C channel (say 1.5" x 3/4") bent into a gentle Z shape. Let's call it a 45 degree bend on an 8" radius. One bend would be flange out, and the other...

I'm not sure why there doesn't seem to be an awesome cordless shop vac on the market. Am I missing something?

In this area, as a general homegamer, I would be more than willing to sacrifice runtime for a high powered cordless vacuum. I have no problem running an extension cord the 1 or 2 times a year I need to vacuum for long periods. I want a vacuum that I can grab on a daily basis and run for 3...

I'm not sure why there doesn't seem to be an awesome cordless shop vac on the market. Am I missing something?

I have used a few different cordless shop vacs and I have a dewalt 20v shop vac and they are all trash and not even remotely as good as corded. But we have higher voltage cordless tools now, such as the 60v, even 120v dewalt stuff. Battery powered lawn mowers. I have a 56volt EGO leaf blower...

Cordless reciprocating saws won't start with blade on the workpiece?

I have 3 reciprocating type saw. Corded DeWalt 12 amp, Cordless DeWalt 20v, and Cordless Milwaukee Hackzall M12. I am usually cutting metal with them; mild steel stock, aluminum, rebar. I've had the corded DeWalt far longer than the other two. I'll often place the blade on my work, start it...

    Warning drill battery chargers fires

I have all my power tool batteries and chargers in the top shelf of my Husky tool chest where the power strip is. It gets closed (and locked) when I'm not around. I can't say this is the reason I did that, but this is definitely the reason I'll keep doing that.

2 post lift bolted to an I beam

This kinda stuff always makes me nervous. I admit that I don't have experience with 2 posts lifts but I know enough to know that there's pretty significant engineering considerations involved with them and a failure can take a life or more. Sometimes it's really not obvious why things are...

Where/What to buy for car stuck in pebble driveway?

I would love to see a close-up photo of a stuck wheel to see exactly what the mechanism of getting stuck is and exactly what kind of rock we're dealing with.

Where/What to buy for car stuck in pebble driveway?

I'm a tad confused, is that a steep sloped driveway? Is there no hard pavement at all? They removed the asphalt and placed rock that can allow water to percolate straight down through? Is it just several inches of smooth rock/pea gravel that cars are sinking into like driving on the beach? Or...

Any pros to unfinished garage walls/ceiling?

The only pro I can think of is how easy it is to run electrical, ethernet, etc. I'm always dicking around with my electrical, outlet here, 3 way switch there, I want this to control that instead of this, etc. That said, I don't like drywall. I stuffed some fiberglass in my stud bays just on...

    Oak hardwood oiled look

I'm realizing I wasn't quite as clear as I thought I was. I am deciding between water based and oil based poly. I would never leave my floor just bare BLO finish. My ideal finish would be oil based poly because that would allow me to use BLO under it and get the desired color. But I'm worried...

    Oak hardwood oiled look

I just pulled up all the carpet in my 1935 and found oak floors in rough condition but intact. 1/8" gaps between some boards and moisture stains. Also carpet glue around the perimeter. I intend on sanding it and applying poly. I am a hobby woodworker so I already know a bit about wood finishes...

What is currently the top of the line DeWalt cordless 20v drill?

I have a full compliment of DeWalt batteries and a DCD780 that I have been flogging for years. I'm looking to relegate the 780 to "house" use and upgrade my shop drill. I want to buy "tool only" of basically the best traditional form factor drill they make. Side handle, all metal chuck, arm...

In a pickel -- any ideas to help extract this tiny sheared-off screw?

It's basically already been mentioned, but I would use one of those tiny cutoff wheels (like 1.25" dia?) In a Dremel kit to slot the end so i can turn it with the biggest fla flat head screwdriver that will fit. You will have no choice but to also slot some of the plastic it seems. Up to you to...
