It can be wired for either, but is currently setup for 120. There are a couple of motor shops nearby; guess I'll call one tomorrow and see what it might cost if it needs to be reinsulated. Yes, that was like step 1. Didn't help / change conditions. I was looking around for them - the tag plate...

Dumb question time, appreciate any replies: Dad has used a vintage Craftsman 70s 1 hp (edit: 1 horsepower) 12 gallon 919.176210 compressor for 40 years. Buddy decided to yank on the pressure relief valve, and while it half heartedly tried to chooch one more time afterward, it blows the breaker...
