Stud and bearing look to be one piece…Smith 1/2 is stamped on the back of the bearing.

I bought an old Wilton Flip Grip last summer at a flea market and I need to build a set of jaws for it. It came with one jaw with the pins in it. I plan on using that jaw as more of a template...I think I can find steel or brass in the correct size.
My question is how can I recreate those...
Thanks for the advice on the paint/primer guys. I tried that Rustoleum Farm equipment paint today straight to the steel and it was watery as hell.
Next vise will get a primer coat.
I'm just about to paint a vise as well...I bought a can of that Rustoleum farm equipment spray paint to try. I've stripped the remaining paint, de-rusted, and wire wheeled. Just before the paint I'll wipe it down with some mineral spirits.
Would shellac be a good base coat before the paint?
I'v tried the pry and thread method and began to screw up the threads. It might be just a matter of trying different positions...

Added photos! I'm thinking of cutting it off and throwing it out and replacing it with a snap ring when I reassemble. Or is it possible to remove those support posts? Are they pressure fit into the jaw?
