    Old Craftsman thrust bearing

Stud and bearing look to be one piece…Smith 1/2 is stamped on the back of the bearing. I think I’ll go the route of getting shoulder bolts and bearings, thanks for the idea!

    Old Craftsman thrust bearing

Hi all, I came across a part I can’t find and thought I could get some info here. I bought an old Craftsman band saw last weekend that I’m taking apart and replacing parts to get it running again. The upper and lower thrust bearings look like this. I see similar bearings for old Craftsman...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

I bought an old Wilton Flip Grip last summer at a flea market and I need to build a set of jaws for it. It came with one jaw with the pins in it. I plan on using that jaw as more of a template...I think I can find steel or brass in the correct size. My question is how can I recreate those...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Thanks for the advice on the paint/primer guys. I tried that Rustoleum Farm equipment paint today straight to the steel and it was watery as hell. Next vise will get a primer coat.

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Added photos! I'm thinking of cutting it off and throwing it out and replacing it with a snap ring when I reassemble. Or is it possible to remove those support posts? Are they pressure fit into the jaw?

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Hey everyone. First post here. Been reading a lot. I've got a few vises from my flea market digging the past few weeks and am in the process of rehabbing them. I figured I'd start with the smallest but I've already run into a problem. It's an old Stanley C595 2 1/2" jaw clamp on vise. I'm...
