@ronr80 Awesome idea! Do you have a closeup of the rubber mat or a different angle so I can see how you placed it? And where did you buy that rubber matt from? I assume it raises the car 2" when the rubber matt is compressed, so the actual rubber thickness is a little more than 2"? Thanks again!
I have an Atlas 4-post lift and my C8 Corvette Z06 fits underneath it just fine, but I haven't put it on top of the actual lift yet because of the width of the car. The runways are fine, even if the tires overhang just a little, but my main concern is when loading the car on the lift, scratching...
You're right. 2 inches on each side isn't bad. I could probably create some sort of simple camera setup that feeds to the car's screen or my phone to be able to see the wheels as they approach the obstruction (since getting in and out of the car multiple times to inspect and make adjustments...
Hmm now you got me thinking that building a platform on top of the entire length of the tracks to raise the height of the tracks above the side obstructions, and making custom ramps leading to that higher platform could be another option. But it would be TON of effort/expense I think, especially...
Yeah I worried about that too, making the passage even narrower by adding materials.
I may trim that area slightly on each side with an angle grinder, provided no structural concerns from doing so. Not sure how much of that metal box is structural versus solely to protect/guard the cable pulley...
Thanks all for the responses.
I think I like this idea the best so far, but a lot of the other ones are great suggestions too. @Firebrick43 When you say "lead in/lead out" did you mean in this shape (attached)? Might be a good solution since the HDPE is a very slick surface and even if the...
I have an Atlas 4 post lift, and have an order in progress for a C8 Corvette Z06. The car is 80" wide and my lift has a "drive through width" of 80.5" so it's going to be a very tight fit (1/4" on each side) to avoid scratching the wheels on the edges circled in red below.
So I was thinking...
Cutting Concrete Sidewalk- Can I use a circular saw with a 7" diamond masonry blade
Trying to cut the sidewalk next to our garage in order to expose the dirt underneath and then plant some shrubs/plants. The area to cut out is approx. 13 feet long by 3 feet wide. I'm trying to avoid renting a...
Hi all- I wanted the wood look and affordability (69 cents/square foot) but I only paid $50 for the ENTIRE roll since I found someone on craigslist selling extra that they had.
Since I have a 4 post lift, I don't do much jacking on the garage floor anymore, but it has held up fine to my wheeled...
Sorry guys, not sure why the picture isn't loading as I have it hosted on IMGUR and shows up fine on my end. Here's a link to the picture of my garage with the vinyl sheet flooring for those who can't see it:

And for those having issues with the Home Depot link...
What do you mean? I just posted my experience with vinyl sheet in a garage yesterday (the post right above yours), as well as the technical specs that support the use.
Not to mention while my product was not specifically designed as garage flooring, a quick Google search shows that there are...
Reviving an old thread to contribute.
Last summer I found someone on craigslist selling some extra vinyl sheet flooring for $50 they had leftover from a project, here is the flooring I used...
