You can't have a 3/8" ID hose and 3/8" thru hole fitting. The fitting has a wall thickness and needs to be able to insert into the hose. You do want some interference, but not that much. Typically the fitting will have at least 1-1.5mm wall thickness inside the hose. You'd be better off...
