    Senville Mini-Splits?

Thanks for the input. Black Oak, How'd the install go? Were there any components that were pre-charged? Or did you have to do a complete vacuum purge? The Mr Cool units are pretty popular, but about 2X the cost.

Just relocated to DFW and everything is RUSTING

I took a humidity reading in the shop and it appears to be about the same as outside, around 60%. It certainly feels more humid in the shop. I'm looking at mini-split systems now :-)

Just relocated to DFW and everything is RUSTING

I've actually used the past wax idea on a Dumore sensitive drill that I restored. I bought it from a guy in Kansas and it arrived a rusted mess. I removed the rust on the cast base in a large electrolysis tank. When I removed it the rust was gone but as it dried a light surface discoloration...

    Senville Mini-Splits?

Anyone have any experience with the Senville units? I was looking at the "SENL-18CD Mini Split Air Conditioner Heat Pump 18000 BTU 19 SEER" on amazon (can't post a link yet). It indicates a precharged line but the instructions have evacuation instructions. I may be willing to purchase an AC...

    1956 Doall 16-SFP Rebuild

For what it's worth, I was able to machine the input shaft without even completely removing the shaft from the gearbox. It was funny looking, but I this up turning between centers. Worked well. The gear box is in superb condition and reassembly is currently underway.

Just relocated to DFW and everything is RUSTING

Howdy folks, New to the forum... I just relocated to the DFW area from far West Texas in the dry, dry desert. Except for the dust, I had little trouble keeping my tools and machines healthy. But 8 months in the DFW area and everything is rusting, my machines, my raw material, files, vise...

    1956 Doall 16-SFP Rebuild

Just found this website. Very cool and perfect timing finding this thread. I'm working on my gearbox on the same model bandsaw. I've been using the saw for 7-8 years in my garage. The input shaft and pulley were a mess when I bought the saw. This introduces some vibration to the saw. I...
