The PC is a great tool for the garage. Display wiring schematics, ordering parts, or just searching Google. With today's tech you can do a lot with very little. We use; lenovo Q150 with matrox DualHead2Go into 2x22" led screens. Wireless key and mouse. Access to upstairs QNAP server for...

    2012 SK tool ****

:D Thanks guys. I can't wait to get the garage sorted and re-organize the large craftsman box dad is leaving us. He commented highly on these tools when he saw them. I'm still deployed and only view through my girls pictures. Yes it's the #4007 drive axle nut socket set. These will replace some...

    Let's see your Shop Clock

Probably most appreciated by bimmer fans that know the car. Small mile marker of my motor build I had this cheap clock done up on cafepress months ago. It's to help me focus lol when home in the garage projects. Was like 10wks waiting on Mahle to put these pistons into a small production run...

    Vehicle Inspections (non-commercial)

We are all car people on a garage forum. Of course I hate inspections as a car guy, but see the need for them. The sheeple need to have pointed out when something isn't safe or basics of hey your emissions are really out of whack you should have x y z sensors replaced so it doesn't run like ****...

Awesome Bob, thanks. I'm hoping to have some time off about then and my buddy lives in Raleigh. The pic is from VIR actually. I want some time away from house projects. Long laundry list of things that keep piling up the longer i'm away. The car will get very little of my time this go around I...

    Hi from NC

Hello there, realized I haven't even posted an intro. Another great forum to hang out and read up on some things I miss doing. I've been working overseas for a few years now with limited time in the US. Might as well be under a rock I've been gone on long stints. I bounce around from NC to FL to...

Buy SK wrenches now or not?

I have a lot of SK in my wishlist. This Garage Journal forum itself has to be the best tool of them all. Looking to exercise national tool warehouse over $1000 free shipping and see how that goes.

6 pt or 12 pt - help educate me!

Usually look for 6pt first, but even browsing lots of SK lately I noticed something. The 1/2" drive sockets I really want for larger sizes are all 12pt. This goes for the sets. The initial 1/2" set will be 6pt with a expansion of 12pt sockets to cover larger up to 36mm sizes. Also impact style...

Looking for Mats for the Garage

I bought an anti fatigue mat from northerntool. Wasn't cheap but was less than commercial places when shopping online. For our outside area in front of the garage we have a few large strips of old conveyor belt for kneeling or laying on. Works great and was free.

My friend just got his first first place, he needs his first tools.

Went through days of poor wrench. Also lots of autocrossing hence the user name. HF and Kobalt isn't bad, even Stanley at wally world will get the job done. I'd recommend it for low $. I might get slammed here for all this lol. I still have the $30 radioshack multimeter that was decent. We all...
