I'm a retired mechanical engineer in his 60's who spent his career in Product Development at Ford. I've been a car nut my entire life, and my dad helped my acquire my first car at the age of 13. I was doing engine rebuilds and auto body work in my teens. That early knowledge base has led me into a variety of car restoration projects and certainly influenced my career choice.
I have also been very involved in SCCA Solo and autocross competition during the last 35 years and have won local and regional autocross and SCCA Solo titles. I've competed in Pro Solo and the SCCA National Solo competitions in Kansas.
I found this forum while researching design details for the new barn/garage I am now building, and will get a thread going on that when it is far enough along to relate the details and post pictures. I am also a big Lionel train collector, so my barn will have a second floor for a huge O-gauge train layout. It is great to have this community of fellow enthusiasts who are so willing to share advice!
