Insulated Garage was it done properly?

Forgot to add: if it's really wet up there, you may want to consider removing the old insulation and installing new stuff to avoid any potential mold issues. A bit of a pain, but not too expensive and you would head off any potential health/resale issues. Best of luck.

Insulated Garage was it done properly?

I have something similar in my garage: sheetrock, vapor barrier then insulation on top of the barrier. You need some kind of vent in the roof, be it a ridge vent or a roof vent (or 2 roof vents depending on the square footage of the garage), so the air from the soffits can flow up through the...

    Frozen Pipe in wisconsin Help...

Try some heat tape. You'll have to wrap some insulation around it to hold the heat. Here's an example: http://www.homedepot.ca/product/15-ft-electric-pipe-heating-cable/909328 However, that's a short-term solution. You'll have to explore other ideas for a more permanent fix. Good luck!

Rock, I did my attached 20x22 last year. I had never done any insulating/drywall before, but got it done after some stops and starts. I had many of the same questions you have. My walls are 2x4. They got batts for R12. Then I covered them with a 6 mil vapor barrier and sheetrock. For the...

    Anyone DIY blown in insulation?.....

I used the AttiCat system by Owens Corning to do my garage. If I got the right trajectory, I could shoot the insulation about 10-12 feet while I crouched in the rafters. It was really easy to use and surprisingly quiet. I had my wife feeding the machine while I ran the hose. Did 440 sq ft to...
