Suggestions for Replacement Mesh WiFi Router System

I can't remember when I got my Orbi, 10+ years I think. RBR50 and RDS50 Satellite. Originally picked it because the satellite has ethernet ports and I can run a PoE switch for cameras off the shop. Been rock solid.

Metal chop saw chip collection ideas? (Evolution S14MCS saw)

The only downside of those saws. Love mine but boy does it scatter the chips. I've tried to come up with some nice elegant idea using pieces of duct or something along those lines to catch and dump them into a bucket, but then I get distracted (look a squirrel...) and forget about it till the...

Troubleshooting cat5e cable for my POE camera

T568B was based on old AT&T wiring scheme for their digital PBX phones. Those used Pairs 2 & 3 which were pins 1&2 (pair 2) and pins 3&6 (pair 3). These are the original data pairs (for 10Base-T and AT&T digital phones). Pair 1 stays on the center pins 4&5 so they can be used for POTS as a...

Troubleshooting cat5e cable for my POE camera

Underground conduits will always end up with water in them, either through cracks/openings or just condensation. The cable will get saturated, the jacketing will absorb the water and it will change the impedance of the twisted pairs. Continuity testing won't show faults, all but the highest...

    Heating the floor or no?

FWIW, I have a non-heated, very poorly insulted ~800sg ft shop on the east-side of the Cascades. Winter temps are typically under freezing, with high 20s to mid 30s normal in the shop. I'm out there a lot, for the most part it doesn't bother me. Hand warmers in my hoodie pocket and I'm good...

    Two conduit questions

You want to make sure the entire run is continuous. Just use a section of liquidtite flexible conduit, other wise bugs, moisture and god only knows what else will get into it. Take a vacuum, **** a string through it and pull a rag or ? to clear it out.
