    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

From all the reading and history telling from Bambu owners they’re all good options, even the now old P1S. There’s just that tempting newer tech to open your wallet a little wider.

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

After suffering through years with an ancient ender 3 I jumped on the bambulabs "sale" and picked up an X2D combo. Jumping up many generations in tech since my ancient old ******* but I'm looking forward to simplified printing. It's been a long while since I've used the ender because it was such...

How would one learn CNC software?

Fusion, all day fusion 360. It's a learning curve but a fun one. I'm a few versions into my own cnc's at home now and it's a handy thing to have access too, and doesn't take all the work folks are suggesting. I bought a 3d printer to make my first cnc, learned what I needed in fusion to...

    Maggot *******

Definitely not MPB, they're about the size of a grain of rice, and they come from larvae of the same size.

HF Toolboxes Workbench - Phase 3

The metal top is the way to finish these things. Nicely done it turned out great.

    Spray foam regrets?

We sprayed our basement when we reno'd it. !00% would do it again. Great product, great result, air sealing was excellent. Reasonably priced. We're getting the other half of the basement done this year by the same folks.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Any details? shoot me a DM, I'm not a computer guy by any stretch but my current pc's starting to really chug. My biggest demand is running fusion 360 for 3d printing and cnc drafting and CAM. I've had issues getting compatible ram for my current setup (despite buying compatible ram...). Would...

Calling structural engineers - Is this i-beam for the garage going to work?

I had engineered drawings done for my garage roof change that I did. Totally worth the peace of mind, think it cost me ~$1k CAD at the time and they answered a lot of my dumb diy questions to follow-up. 10/10 would do it the exact same way in the future.

    SquashCycle Bikes

Ah totally, I remember softride, and have vague memories of a bike they made too. It was a changing time on the scene and rockshox was about to upset the whole shebang with their world beating front forks along with manitou.

Everyone realized it's just a truck bumper on a stem.

    LED screw in bulbs

I've got a bunch setup in my basement and they have had issues with flickering, flashing on/off, not sure if I've got too many bulbs on one circuit or if the bulbs are bogus, but for their claimed lifespans I haven't been super impressed so far. Philips bulbs too, not expected from the bigger...

Reccomened me a Good TIG Welder

Totally agreed, also at the current costs for the "USA" brands, I can afford to have 4 "import" tig units standing by in case one of them actually craps out. If you're a home hobbyist and money matters why spend $4k on a machine when a $1k will do the same job? It's just vanity isn't it? I...

Need help determining value of machines and tools

Keep in mind if you're chasing top dollar for the lot or trying to get it moved. How much price difference from the dream total price are you willing to take or happy with to get it all sold and gone quickly. Folks love a deal, and being willing to move and be reasonable will get stuff gone quickly.

Need help determining value of machines and tools

It's a shame that folks don't value the older and quality equipment vs something brand new, it's really strange, and just a psychology experiment playing out all over. It's just kind of the way it's all gone with everything though. New build homes, new cars, new tools. False security in the...
