Had same problem with a lift from 2014. Bought a new travel module, installed it and all now working fine for last six months. Liftmaster guy said he sold me the last one in stock for old machine. It’s a job lifting that thing next to the wall, on ladder, at age 80.
Mini-splits are approaching toaster status. Run ‘em as long as they work. Replace an indoor or outdoor unit if one fails and go till the next event. Costs keep coming down.
Half of Minnesota doesn’t need A/C. Heat is the problem and mini splits, of which we have four, are marginal heaters at very low temperatures and start getting expensive. Figure out best heating arrangement—might be central furnace if gas NG is readily available.
The previous system worked for 25 years. Replace with a comparable unit. Maybe in year 2049 the buyer of the house can diddle the same ghosts you’ve been doing here.
We’ve gone through 2 and half Fujitsus in 13 years. Just replaced two with new Pioneers. All DIY. Curious as to what parts are replaceable. And what, other than replacing a complete compressor or inside unit, can easily be done.
