This was 25 years ago but I ran a water line 450 ft when my parents built their house. We used a ride-on ditch witch for everything except right up against the house, where we used a mini x to dig out room to work. Those chain driven trenchers would make short work of 100ft, and the large one...
Having rented and run both I'd look at it this way. The mini ex will probably get them out, with possible damage to your yard and a large hole to fill.
The grinder will definitely take them down (if you cut that 2' stump closer to the ground) with minimal damage to your yard and a much smaller...
That's a good point. I know to never open more than one or two drawers at a time, but I should probably start teaching my kids to do the same thing. My teenaged daughter already goes searching for tools on her own.
Don't direct nail/staple. I fought the screened in porch on my house for almost a decade, re-nailing or stapling the screen in place and fixing warped wood trim before I ripped it all off and started over. I used the Screen Tight system I got at lowes and it was well worth it. Did this in...
This is what Dad always called a saber saw, so it's what I called them too. I thought he even had a Porter Cable called a saber saw back in the 90's but apparently they were named Tiger Saws.
With all the struggles people seem to have with ratchet straps I feel fortunate I was able to snag about 8 sets from work when I was a co-op 20 years ago. We regularly got sea-tainers full of rolls of industrial felt in from China, and they used 1.5" ratchet straps made in Germany to secure the...
Stihl sold a BOATLOAD of MS290 Farm Boss saws back in the day! I lived further out in the country at the time and I swear everyone on the street had one. Most landscaping crews I knew of who occasionally might drop a tree or take care of deadfall had one too. When Dad started heating our home...
I used to use tap water back when I swapped vehicles every 2 years. Now I try to keep them 10+ years, so I use distilled. Its cheap and easy to find and more pure than deionized water.
Metal is certainly easy, the only time I've noticed issues with noise is when people have parties inside with loud music, it gets painful to listen to after a few minutes.
Speaking to pallets, I built an office in my basement and lined one wall with pallets I had. I stained them which added a...
I get the satisfaction of building something yourself, but these are like $55-65 on Amazon. The time and materials to DIY doesn't seem worth it. I use mine a few times a year to haul my 13ft kayak.
Google image search says it's a Bolens tube frame, check out the first image in post #17 here.

It's probably worth making an account on mytractorforum.com and trying to get some more information there.
If you're able to get the safe opened, see if the lock is replaceable. Many gun safes use a Group 2 UL size lock which are pretty easy to replace. I'd put a mechanical lock from S&G or Lagard. You can set them with any combination you want.
If you have the budget I'd probably go for the subcompact tractor with a blower. 5 acres is enough for that to be useful for other tasks. I'm using an old 80's Wheel Horse garden tractor for my 3 acres and 250ft driveway with a plow attachment. We don't get enough snow in southern ohio to...
