Need Help, I think my contractor is lying to US

couple more thoughts. Are the fixtures rated to be in contact with insulation? if not, is the insulation 3" or more away from the fixture? And not covering it? Are the LEDS approved for use in you're housings? Are the LEDS dimmable? Are you're dimmers approved for LEDS?

Need Help, I think my contractor is lying to US

if the AC is blowing straight up it can be cooling the LEDS to a point where they go out, I remember running into a problem like that in the past, though I think it was flour. fixtures there. As for can the box handle it, if it couldn't, the breaker feeding it would have tripped. As for the guy...

    rapidair

I'm thinking of piping comp. with rapidair system, but want to keep my horizontal runs above the ceiling in the attic for a cleaner look. Since you want the air to be cool for less condensation, is this a bad idea?

Whole House Power / Surge Protection

sycom is good stuff, but you'll have to have THIER point of use units on electronics like tvs and computers for their warranties to work. I install sycom surge protection. You also need to have one on each outdr units like well pumps and ac condensors for those to be covered.

    Worth Reading - Lathe

Back in the 70s, I worked in a large machine shop which made aircraft parts. A young Russian guy probably around 30 was operating the lathe, seemed like a real nice, quite guy. I believe there were 3 large allen screws if I'm not mistaken that close the jaws that hold the work piece in place...

    I'm in the wrong business...

Of course he didn't have the breaker with him, you wouldn't believe how many makes and different styles each manufacturer has. They are too expensive to have all on hand, take up to much room too. Also, if you had an fpe or zinscoe, the breaker itself might have cost you almost that much. We are...

not garage, can light led retrofit question

not liking those really. how can it insulate, yet vent at the same time? Also, must be ul approved for use with either particular fixtures or all fixtures. And you can't just bury non IC cans with insulation because you put an led bulb in it.

Trying to wire my hoist, keep popping my breaker before I even get started!

10 is pretty stiff, try br without wire connected, if stays on, check you're RX in the panal and you're junc box that no copper is toughing metal. Actually pull it away and look at ALL of it, and where you're RX connectors are attached. Undo them if there metallic, may have pinched the RX.

my coats 10 10 tire machine I got for FREE

I used to use one of those in the 60s and 70s at my fathers shop. Great machine. Don't know how big a wheel it can do but I used to do wide mags with it, nothing I couldn't do with it back then. used a rag around the contact point of tool on rim, never a problem.
