    Vise Mount Options

That's how I did mine and I love it. Mine is also mounted to a steel frame that's attached to the wall, and it's VERY sturdy. I've used way to many vices that were on the verge of ripping out of their mounts, so I went all out on mine.

    Cool Tool Story

Thanks for the info! I haven't looked into these much since it doesn't need anything to work for my purposes. Yeah knowing what I know now there's no way I'd do the swith either. It's much more out of the way than I expected it to be anyway so no need to even move it. My welder, plasma cutter...

    Cool Tool Story

Thanks guys Neither of those bother me. It's got a keyless chuck, not sure if that's original or not but it works fine so I'll leave it. The table has a bunch of holes and marks from previous use. I'll probably weld and grind them all then put a 1" hole in the center.

    Cool Tool Story

Lots of people on here seem to be into the classic tools so I thought many on here would enjoy this story: I learned some cool stuff researching the other night. A few years ago I bought a nice old heavy duty drill press from the company I used to work for. It was my first job out of college...

    Rockwell Disc Sander

I've got a large 12" disc sander for sale. I bought it off the company I used to work for when they were updating some equipment and I've never used it so it's time to go. I bought some other stuff at the same time that's all in good working order, but have never used this one. It started and...

Great looking barn! Here's another option for you: http://www.pasqualiconstruction.com/ Owned and operated by a longtime family friend of mine, I've always heard good stuff about their work. I'm hoping to have them put a cement pad outside my garage this spring.

    My Smallish Fab Shop

Sounds like lots of us on this forum are at about the same point! Pretty cool. The black Ram is my best friend's truck, but I designed all the suspension and built every inch of it in my parents' driveway. The owner of course helped a lot and got pretty good at fabrication himself as things...

    My Smallish Fab Shop

Thanks Andy. I just picked up a 2005 Silverado 2500HD. I love it so far, except for fuel mileage. But I've got a Focus econobox for commuting so it shouldn't be a big deal. Thanks! Will do once I have more to show. I doubt anyone cares about pics of my wiring and subpanel

    My Smallish Fab Shop

For some reason I didn't take many pics of the bench I built but I can get more if anybody wants it. It's 3/4" MDF doubled up to 1.5" thick with a 1/2" radius routed on the front edge. Then I coated it with Home Depot's crappy floor epoxy. It looks good, is somewhat tough, and can easily be...

    My Smallish Fab Shop

When I moved in(March 2012) the garage was pretty bare, just 2 halogen bulbs and a few 110v outlets. That was fine by me since then I got to build it all how I want. First step was to have a buddy epoxy the floor: I was hesitant to do it since it'll get messed up with all my steel work, but...

    My Smallish Fab Shop

I spent 4 years after college building projects in 2 bays of my parents' 3 car garage and learned to do a lot of good work in a small space with minimal tools and resources. I built these there from the ground up, all custom fabrication, plus a handful of other projects: Then I FINALLY got...
