Cleaning Tools With Vinegar - corrosion?

When cleaning old, slightly rusty tools, I usually soak in household cooking vinegar for a couple days and clean with a wire brush. But check this out. Both these Craftsman wrenches were equally rusty before I put them in the vinegar. But one of them practically dissolved away. I’m guessing the...

    Cordless Ratchet Suggestions

Thanks guys for the great feedback. Leaning towards the Ingersoll Rand. I figure between the IR and Makita, if I do not like it, I could probably sell it used without losing too much money due to the great brand reputation. Would also Tend to like to go cheap in the AC Delco but not a Chevy guy.

    Aircraft: SAE or Metric

I recall a Thiokol rep telling us the Eurofighter spec required metric airframe fasteners. Metric increased cost by 10X over SAE as metric was almost nonexistent.

Show your Harbor Freight Clearance Finds

Found any smoking deals in the HF Closeout sections? Usually I never see any value there. Typical stuff is a socket set missing a socket or two - and they sell at a discount that’s the same as buying a complete set with coupon. But this one was a deal. Open Box 3/4” Earthquake impact. They...

Looking for a new torque wrench

Proto torque wrenches is all I buy. Fair price. Excellent quality. I’ve worked in several plants where there were required adjustable 1/2 & 3/4 torque wrenches with strict independent bi-annual calibration requirements. Protos almost always never failed test. Hands down was always the go to.
