    2022: Best Mitre Saw?

Let's be honest, 99% of the time someone buys a tool it isn't about "need". It isn't here either. In my case, it's costing me less than $150, I'm retaining probably the same cut capacity, or almost, and getting back a lot of floor space which was probably the biggest issue. And, with...

    2022: Best Mitre Saw?

Let's remember that the premise of this thread was - "I have a 12" Dewalt on a stand that's too damn big so I'm selling it...." No problems with the saw, but no need for those cut capacities and I'm dealing with limited space.

    2022: Best Mitre Saw?

Hey everyone. appreciate all the responses. My old Dewalt 12" and Ridgid MSUV stand went home with a new owner. Wasn't unhappy with it, but chuckled as I watched it take up almost his entire truck bed and when he was having some issues getting the tonneau cover to close down over it (Okay...

    2022: Best Mitre Saw?

Been doing a little research, and I have seen at least one person get rid of a Bosch in favor of a Makita, I think it had to do with play and accuracy of beveled / angled cuts but I'm not sure how much there is to that. (Apparently he didn't have great luck with the Metabo HPT either) Been...

    2022: Best Mitre Saw?

Yeah, would certainly be nice, not sure I can in good faith stomach the $1K premium over the Bosch though.

    2022: Best Mitre Saw?

I'm looking for some updated feedback on Mitre Saws now that we're going into 2022. Corded, not battery operated. Specifically, double bevel sliding compound saws. Probably a 10" but am open to be convinced otherwise. I have an older Dewalt 12" on a stand that's just HUGE and am selling it...

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

Ordered the cutoff tool kit yesterday at $119, 2 hours later had my order cancelled before it was ready for pickup, now it's back to $199 everywhere I've checked.

Wow, love the design. How tall are the ceilings inside - 12'? How about the garage doors?

Stripping a car body. Dipping or blasting?

Dipping and e-coating is the way to go. If you can't e-coat, you have a lot of work ahead of you with spray wands and such to get paint and sealer inside frame rails and to all the spots you can't easily reach.

    Bought My First House

How is the inside of the garage finished? Bare Studs? Sheetrock? OSB? The easiest way to insulate might be to tear down to the studs, do any wiring and plumbing you need to do, insulate, sheetrock, paint. Leave plenty of outlets for lights, welders, heat if you decide to go electric. Do it...

    Which auto darkening helmet?

I used a crappy hood for years, and could never see what I was doing. Switched to an Optrel E680 and love it... This welding thing is a heck of a lot easier when you can actually see :D

    New to welding

My advice, taken with a grain of salt because I don't have a ton of experience myself: Get a good hood. Being able to see what you're doing helps tremendously! I started with a crappy hood and I'm convinced this made it hard on me to learn what I was doing... I would start with a 115V Mig...
