I have Craftsman blue/black & red/white for general purpose, but Willi Hahn (Wiha) is who I trust for tiny precision work - I have slotted/Phillips & Torx sets.

The cheaper "wide" toolboxes I'm finding top out at 26 inches.
You might want to check eBay for some used pieces. Search for "wide toolbox".

Is it affecting your productivity directly? If not, it's best to just let them fail. Alienating them by directly confronting them will only cause you problems.

I'm surprised Matco would even put their name on it. Looks like one of the ones I've tried. TCJ - typical Chinese junk. Does it have a hassle-free warranty? I only see a return policy.

Thanks for the advice! I just went ahead and picked up an overstock Radio Shack regulated adapter for cheap (they rebranded them to "Enercell" so RS-branded are half price or better). I'll experiment with unregulated on a device I don't care about. :)
