    Stanley Vidmar score off CL

Thanks guys, these things really are Heavy duty, each drawer has 10 roller bearings on it, they are really built nicely, I have always wanted one, and got lucky finding a pair at that price.

Thanks Strouty, for some reason when I use my phone to upload it goes sideways on me. BTW, I love your salvage garage thread and have come to admire your progress and capabilities. Love those cabinets as well, Brian

Cleaned them up and rattle canned them in Craftsman colors, they really cleaned up nice. Now I just have to be patient before reassembling them. The aluminum handles cleaned up like new:

Thanks guys, for the lock info and I agree, most I have seen are near $100 per drawer. Yes, I am excited about industrial cabinets. Brian

Although they don't have the locks on the units, the knock outs are there and intact for them, as well as all of the internal hardware and linkage mechanisms. Locks must have been an option for these units.

    Stanley Vidmar score off CL

Lucky Monday morning review of my local Craigs List tools section, I found two, nine drawer 59"x 30" Stanley Vidmar cabinets for sale, just listed. I called the guy and made a run to his shop within and hour. These things are hard to find at a reasonable price. I was able to buy them for $325...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Thomas, Nice job on the manual rebinding. Here are a couple of pictures (before and after) from my Craig’s list find last Monday. I bought this 60’s version of Sun’s 1020 scope for $70, not working. I brought it home and cleaned it up. Went through each system electronically and found a number...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

I don’t know where to begin; after spending all my spare moments the last three weeks reading this post from beginning to end, both at home and at work, I have to reach out to say thank you Thomas and Chris. As a fellow car guy, drag racer, restorer of buildings and all things mechanical, I am...

Installed new PVC roll out G-floor this weekend

The J, you are correct, the material is 75 mil thick, they also sell a 55 mil product which is what is marketed at SAMs club stores. At the garage doors I used indoor/outdoor carpet tape (as recomended) to bind it to the floor, it hasn't budged with my wife driving over it every day, same for...

Installed new PVC roll out G-floor this weekend

Jeremy, It is not slippery because of the raised coin pattern, I think it would be otherwise, they make it in diamond plate pattern as well. I have seen this type of flooring in a number of settings from commercial office buildings to gym’s and even in stairwells. I think it would also be great...

    Modern Garage in Far East

Andres, Attached is a picture taken about a month ago looking out our front window over the frozen bay at sunrise, our home has no blinds or drapes facing the water. On days like this we get to enjoy the joys of nature. We are looking forward to the thaw to be able to enjoy the water lapping at...

Installed new PVC roll out G-floor this weekend

Don, I will report back after a few weeks to determin how it holds up, remember, this is my wifes daily garage not my shop where welding and such may impact it. As for moisture it acts no differently than epoxy in sealing the floor from vapors and moisture. Overall it's a beautiful solution to...
