    The vintage Blackhawk Thread

I just started disassembling my SJ18 for restoration. For the most part I am very impressed with the overall condition. If anyone has a source for sone rear swivel casters or the cover plate, I would appreciate any leads!

Blackhawk SJ-18 Floor Jack - Another Resto Thread

Marty, I too just recently found one on Craigslist locally. Maybe we can help each other out during restorations. I need a cover as well, but figure we might have to do something like have one 3D printed in nylon/plastic. I need rear casters... Does yours still have some you can remove and...

Garage fire rebuild and insurance co woes

I try to unplug mine, but I will be the first to admit that I forget often. I do not usually have the batteries on them though, does that make a difference?

    Some "non-standard" air line questions

I have done numerous searches and find MANY "what material/can I use PVC" threads, but some of the questions I have do not seem to be easy to find, possibly there, but buried under the other clutter. Hopefully I did not miss some obvious topics/posts. Background: We bought our house/property...

    Creative uses for "junk" wheels?

Looks better! I might actually have an old wheel hub laying around and could mount a swivel handle so you could actually reel them up.

    Creative uses for "junk" wheels?

    Got any pics?

    Creative uses for "junk" wheels?

Yes, for the front. I have a really nice, USA made, Eley hose real for the back. With 150' of hose on it, there is no way a wheel would work well (only have 50' of hose up front). I had not thought about a clock... That could work...

    Creative uses for "junk" wheels?

It is a non-OEM wheel in a discontinued style, thus the reason it is "junk". I do like the idea so far of extension cord storage.

    Creative uses for "junk" wheels?

Does anyone have any pictures or creative ideas on what to do with unused/spare wheels? My sister works at a dealership and gave me a wheel that was damaged (but like new) and trying to figure out what to do with it (wife already nixed the hose reel idea for the front of the house... lol)...

What are you guys lining your garage walls with?

    Impact Sockets

I have used standard sockets without any problem when I did not have access to the imparct sockets (and have never broken one) but have started to acquire the sets from Harbor Freight with the 20-25% off coupons. Just bought a torx impact socket set Mon. and they seem to be very good quality...

    My score from work

As mentioned before, these are the only two fire-rated file cabinets in the building or you can guarantee that I would have been taking more. All of the others are your standard cabinets. When they get a little more serious about moving us, I might try and snag some of the regular cabinet to...

    My score from work

Those were the only fire rated file cabinets, but there are probably about 100 regular ones (about 40 are probably empty at this point). We are supposed to be moving buildings and I have been told that they are basically leaving everything and that "within reason" I can take anything else home...

    My score from work

Work has been going paperless, so that has left a lot of the file cabinets in the building empty. I asked the president of our division if I could take the two heavy, empty file cabinets in the finance area, he said sure, but to ask the building manager. Her response was to "Take as many as...
