    Replacing asphalt driveway with pavers

You're going to need 8-12' of base layer more than likely. What part of Canada? HPB isn't a base layer. I'd do 3/4 or CA6 for a traditional base. You'll also want a driveway rated paver or they will crack.

Leaking roof where 2 buildings are joined

If money was no object it would be torn apart and fixed. More looking for a temporary fix to keep the underside from deteriorating while money is spent elsewhere on the property. Eventually it will get fixed appropriately.

Leaking roof where 2 buildings are joined

Never thought about the depth of the trough itself, I’m going to have a better look at that tomorrow.

Leaking roof where 2 buildings are joined

I think the term design is giving it a bit too much credit. Definitely a cobble job from a previous owner that was reasonably close to successful. Just trying to waterproof it without major surgery. You can’t see it from the ground, doesn’t matter if it looks like ****.

Leaking roof where 2 buildings are joined

The trough is pitched so the water runs off. Snow and Ice I'm sure could be problematic, and an ice dam is certainly a possibility. It leaks in the summer and the winter.

Leaking roof where 2 buildings are joined

My buddy has a building where 2 separate buildings were joined together and are leaking. Both roofs are metal and there is a rubber belt of some sort that slopes from one end to the other that is acting as a gutter. While the belt is secured approximately a foot under the metal on each side...

Old Hog Shed to Shop Conversion. Where to Start!

I did the wiring and the whole inside of the barn was spray foamed a year and a half ago. I used it with no wall covering on it up until recently for some wood working. This is what it looks like now. I found a guy with 5/8” plywood crate tops that were just short of a full sheet for $20 a...

Asphalt contractor created new drainage problem

Agreed, it appears grading the surrounding lawn would be the solution. It’s stuck on the driveway because the ground is in the way, not because it’s not flowing to the edge.

    Fixing broken cap on step

I own a landscaping company and we use srw adhesive for all our glue ups. The stuff provides the best bond of anything I’ve tried.

Question for you folks that are woodworkers

Any pictures of the trunk? It looks more like hickory. What kind of nut was on it? Are there still any laying around?

4" Schedule 80 PVC Pipe Repair

Seems somewhat shocking to me they would let you repair it yourself.

    Drainage help

schedule 40 is pretty brittle from outside pressure. Schedule 35 drain pipe is what you want, its thinner, but gives with outside pressure instead of cracking. The drainage fittings are usually sized for drain pipe not schedule 40.
