    Blown Fiberglass or Cellulose?

R Value? The fiberglass people invented the test. It is in a sealed box where all products test the same but put it in a place that air can pass through then the R value changes. Foam and cellulose both block air and stay the same R value. Fiberglass lets air flow through(think furnace filter)...

New Construction Garage - Heating/Insulation Advice Needed

For insulation you may want to look at blown in cellulose. Kills bugs, actually works as insulation unlike bats(R16 bats test to R16 but in a house it may only be R5 or R6 where cellulose test R16 and in a house would be R16). Next best would be foam board caulked in or foamed in. And if your...

question on insulating a block garage

I would never use bleach. I would use boric acid(roach power). It will kill the mold and all bugs(not spiders) and it will not hurt humans(it's used in eyewash). All fiberglass will mold. The best is cellulose(it has boric acid in it). Next best is thick foam board calked or foamed in. Good Luck!

If I may, you might check with the (Feds, State, County, City) and see if they have a program to plant trees (orchard?) where they will supply the trees and all the help you need to do the planting. Then you have a tree farm and a farm taxes will be less and you get free trees. Then work with...

    Insulation questions

It is never good to use fiberglass. The best is Cellulose. But that takes some know-how to put in the walls. Not so much in the attic. Foam board would work but you need to foam or caulk the edges to keep the air out. Good luck!
