That makes sense. I split my one colony to two last year and they made a new queen and seemed to be doing well but died over the winter. Beekeeping has had a much steeper learning curve than any of my other hobbies, so much to figure out!

I love the bee updates! I just have one colony right now, but looking to grow so it’s great to see how you do it on a larger scale. It sounds like you’re using the package bees to start new colonies. Do you find that more effective than splitting?

Loving all the bike and machining content! What chain guide did you use on your son's bike? My son has a 20" Specialized that has been dropping the chain a lot as well and I think I'll need to put a guide on it. Thanks!
