    Thanks pop pop.. good idea! Only issue is that the junction box is on the wall behind my garage cabinets. It's not covered by them, but it is on the wall between the upper and lower cabinets (think of where a kitchen backsplash would go) So I don't mind a small covered metal junction box...

    OK cool.. I think I'll buy a 30A breaker, and some 10/3 to add to the 8/3 as pattenp suggests above. Reason for avoiding the armored 8/3 is that Home Depot online shows only a 50' spool which is $170. They have 10/3 armored in a 25' for $50. So huge difference there. I'll grab a 10/3...
