    Barn Roof Repair Question

Yes, I agree with the post above. If the rafters are not right on 16" or 24" centers, you will either have a lot of cutting and waste, OR a bunch of scabbing sisters on.

How important is it to use a fabric cover for a mig welder?

Mine has a sheet metal housing. No need for a cover. It wouldn't help my problem anyway. Damned stinkbugs get into every crack and crevasse they can find in the electric fan motor of the welder, as well as other tools. Then, when the tool is used, they die in the most stinky fashion possible...

Buying lumbar - big box stores vs lumbar yards

None of these are near me. Never heard of any of them. And by the map, it looks like the closest one would be about 50 miles away.

    Deck ramp dos and don’ts.

1 in 12 pitch for handicap access. So for a deck 4 feet above grade, you will need 48 running feet of ramp. Add in minimum of 5 feet landings if you change direction. It gets tough meeting the standard sometimes.

OOOOOH! I noticed the mis-spell in the thread title, but overlooked it in your sarcasm. My deepest, sincere apologies! :bounce:

Buying lumbar - big box stores vs lumbar yards

I used to deal with 84 Lumber all the time. I was a general contractor. But now, I won't even walk into their store any more. Unless you have that one salesman that knows you, their prices are all over the place and higher than anywhere else. Last two times I checked with them, I was quoted BIG...

Ya reckon? Sure they are out there. 50 miles away, but not close by. ;)

Where exactly are you guys finding all these local lumber yards? Big Box stores seem to have ran them all away....

    MAJOR Concrete issue! Options?

That weird brown color makes me suspect there may be too much sand in the mix. Or possibly the mix got contaminated with dirt?? Wow.

Genie 6170H Wall Mount - sometimes lock doesn't stay released?

Sounds like your lock has a defect. Should be covered under warranty. I have two of these openers, and have not had any problem with those locks.

    MAJOR Concrete issue! Options?

Next question is, who ordered and paid for the concrete? Did you order it and pay for the delivery? If so, you should be entitled to the tickets. Or was it bought and paid for by the contractor? If that was the case, he would be the concrete company's customer, not you. So they possibly feel...

    MAJOR Concrete issue! Options?

You have asked this, and been answered. I'm sure it would be easier if you could go after a big company with deep pockets rather than chasing down a small time concrete finisher....But if the contractor added any water to the mix when placing it at the site, the concrete company will not be...

I know you are going to think I am a *****

I have one. Used it to **** out ATF after my kid overfilled the transmission fluid in his car. Saved dropping the pan....

Jackshaft Garage Door Openers: Which will be best for cost vs. return (Bang for the buck)?

I have two of the Genies, and have been loving them for a couple of years now. I opted for the models without the battery backup. Saved some $$, and I can just pull the cord to disconnect the opener and raise my doors by hand if needed. I like that the Genies come with the cable tensioner, and...

    Super thin lug nut socket

19MM or 3/4" is pretty much a standard size for the lug hex on great number of vehicles. Sounds like these aftermarket wheels are not designed very well.
